About Neighbors for Schools, Inc.
Our Organization
Neighbors for Schools, Inc. is a Georgia 501(c)(3) public charity focused on the real-world impact of school meal policies. When families struggle to pay for meals, districts often absorb the cost to protect students from alternate meal stigma, which creates debt and strains already limited budgets. We exist to support schools, reduce meal debt, and help ensure every student receives a dignified, real meal.

Our Mission
Our mission is to reduce the financial strain on Metro Atlanta school nutrition programs through three core efforts: increasing Free and Reduced Meal application submission, educating families on how school nutrition programs operate and why meal debt occurs, and directing donor support toward reducing accumulated meal debt. We work with districts to promote dignity-centered meal practices, so that every student receives a real meal without stigma, and schools are not left to manage the burden alone.
Board Development
As Neighbors for Schools grows, we're working to establish a formal Board of Directors with representation across Metro Atlanta, particularly from Gwinnett, Fulton, Dekalb, Cherokee and Cobb counties.
