Meal Debt Reduction Support
Meal Debt Reduction Support

A school's lunch budget is tight. Neighbors can help close the gap.

Meal debt places financial strain on school nutrition programs and can limit a school's ability to serve meals with dignity. When students receive meals without funds in their account, those balances accumulate. Over time, nutrition teams are forced to cover the gap by cutting corners elsewhere, such as delaying equipment repairs, reducing menu quality, or pulling from other operational budgets.

Neighbors for Schools helps reduce this strain. We direct donor supported funds to districts across Metro Atlanta to pay down accumulated meal debt. By relieving this financial pressure, nutrition programs can redirect funds toward the things that keep them running well, like equipment, communication tools, and service improvements, instead of absorbing unpaid balances.

You can choose to support a specific school district or give to our general fund, and we ensure your gift reaches the schools that need it most.
