Be a neighbor for your school. Make a difference.

Neighbors for Schools started in one community, but meal debt and unmet applications happen everywhere. We're looking for people across Metro Atlanta, and beyond, who want to help their local schools the same way.
Volunteer:
Help us spread the word in your district. Whether it's sharing information with other parents, connecting with your school's nutrition team, or helping distribute materials about free and reduced meal applications, your local knowledge makes a real difference. We can't be everywhere, but together, neighbors can.
Donate:
Every contribution helps reduce meal debt and supports families navigating the application process. Choose to support a specific district or give to our general fund.

A Note To Volunteers:

Certain volunteer positions, particularly those involving direct contact with school communities or students, require completion of a background check through Global Background Screening as part of our application process. This helps ensure the safety of the students we serve.

If a background check is required for your role, there is a $25 fee to cover the cost. This fee is non-refundable. Background checks are valid for 2 years, after which volunteers will need to complete a new background check to continue volunteering. The fee for renewal will be based on the cost at that time and may differ from the initial $25 fee.

Background check results are reviewed on a case-by-case basis. Minor offenses, such as traffic violations, do not automatically disqualify a volunteer from participating.

Please note: because our work involves school communities and students, Neighbors for Schools, Inc. is not able to accommodate court-ordered community service hours, school-mandated service hours, or similar requirements.
