I understand clicking "Apply" does not constitute an offer of employment with Neighbors for Schools, Inc., and that certain volunteer roles require a background check with associated fee as described on the Get Involved page.

I understand that Neighbors for Schools, Inc. does not reimburse mileage or travel expenses, and that I am responsible for my own transportation to and from any volunteer activities or events. I agree to hold Neighbors for Schools, Inc. harmless for any incidents involving my personal vehicle or bodily injury in connection with volunteer activities.

A Note To Volunteers:

Certain volunteer positions, particularly those involving direct contact with school communities or students, require completion of a background check through Global Background Screening as part of our application process. This helps ensure the safety of the students we serve.

If a background check is required for your role, there is a $25 fee to cover the cost. This fee is non-refundable. Background checks are valid for 2 years, after which volunteers will need to complete a new background check to continue volunteering. The fee for renewal will be based on the cost at that time and may differ from the initial $25 fee.

Background check results are reviewed on a case-by-case basis. Minor offenses, such as traffic violations, do not automatically disqualify a volunteer from participating.

Please note: because our work involves school communities and students, Neighbors for Schools, Inc. is not able to accommodate court-ordered community service hours, school-mandated service hours, or similar requirements.
